About

Mindfulness is a natural human capacity that allows us to return to the present moment — to notice what is happening within and around us, with openness and curiosity. By cultivating this awareness, we develop a steadier and more compassionate way of relating to our thoughts, emotions, and daily experiences.

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program was founded in 1979 by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. It is one of the most widely recognized mindfulness programs in the world, grounded in scientific research. Through guided practices such as sitting meditation, gentle stretching, and body scan, participants learn to bring mindfulness into everyday life. MBSR is not a form of religious practice — it is a learnable way of living that helps us cope with inevitable stress and pain in life, and emotional challenges with greater clarity and ease.

Research over the past decades has shown that regular mindfulness practice can:

  • Reduce stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms
  • Improve sleep and concentration
  • Ease physical pain
  • Enhance emotional regulation and overall life satisfaction
  • Strengthen immunity and resilience

Practicing mindfulness is more than relaxation — it’s a journey of returning “home” to ourselves and to the present moment, rediscovering calm, strength, and presence in everyday life.
