About

Some of us say “comparison is the thief of joy” while others believe comparison inspires and motivates us to aim higher and strive harder. It seems impossible to completely avoid comparing ourselves with others in a society of such competitiveness. However, what to do when constant comparisons and competition start to cause us trouble and unease? When we stop comparing ourselves with others, are we going to become complacent, falling behind in the race without realizing it?

In this workshop, our clinical psychologist will delve with us into the meaning underlying social comparisons and introduce techniques to overcome excessive comparison.

This event will be held in Cantonese.

Contents

  • Examine the difference between "healthy" and "unhealthy” comparisons
  • Explore ways to break the vicious cycle of "unhealthy comparison"
  • Discuss alternative methods to comparison for personal growth
  • Try out various self-care practices
